Accelerate your efforts.
Let's clearly distinguish between speed, velocity, and acceleration - and why acceleration is critical, even (especially) in tough situations.
Speed
Speed is directionless. If you continue to return to the same position (get the same result) then all your speed has only resulted in zero velocity (a frenzy of activity). This is a particularly critical time as worries over declining business, layoffs, etc., as well as real constraints can bring progress to a halt.
Velocity
Velocity is speed with direction. If a body (or company) in motion wishes to maximize their velocity then they must maximize the amount they are displaced from their original position (their actions must go into moving further from where they started). Velocity is direction-aware - when evaluating velocity, one must keep track of direction.
Acceleration
Acceleration is the rate at which you change velocity . . . if your company's efforts are slowing down, then your acceleration is in the opposite direction of your motion!
